Our Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Tattoos By Scott Ltd, we understand that plans can change. We operate on a no-deposit system - payment is made at the time of your appointment upon completion of work.

Payment Terms

Flexible Payment Options

  • Option 1 - Pay on Completion: No upfront payment required. Pay in full when your tattoo is finished (before leaving studio)
  • Option 2 - Pre-Pay to Secure Booking: Pre-pay the full amount at time of booking to guarantee your appointment slot
  • Payment Methods: Cash, Debit Card, Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Bank Transfer
  • Design Consultation: Free consultation and design work included with all appointments

Why pre-pay? Pre-payment ensures your appointment is locked in and shows commitment. It's particularly useful for popular time slots or large custom pieces.

Cancellation Policy

We offer flexible payment - you can pay on completion or pre-pay to secure your booking. Cancellation terms depend on your payment choice:

For Bookings WITHOUT Pre-Payment

If you haven't pre-paid, here's what happens when you cancel:

✓ 24+ HOURS NOTICE

Result: No charge - appointment cancelled

Contact me by phone, email, or in person to cancel

Rebooking: You're welcome to rebook at any time

⚠ LESS THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE

Result: £50 cancellation fee may apply

Short notice prevents me from filling your appointment slot

Reason: Compensates for lost business and reserved artist time

✗ NO-SHOW (Missed Appointment)

Result: £50 no-show fee + future bookings will require pre-payment

Repeated no-shows will result in being unable to book future appointments

Reason: Artist time was reserved and lost revenue cannot be recovered

For Pre-Paid Bookings

If you've pre-paid your tattoo cost to secure your booking:

✓ 48+ HOURS NOTICE

Result: Full refund minus £20 administrative fee

Processing: Refund issued within 5-7 business days

Rebooking: You're welcome to rebook. Admin fee waived if you reschedule instead of cancelling

⚠ 24-48 HOURS NOTICE

Result: 50% refund

Design work has been completed and slot difficult to fill

Alternative: Transfer full payment to rescheduled appointment (no refund, but no loss)

⚠ LESS THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE

Result: No refund

Too late to fill appointment slot and materials/time already allocated

Exception: May transfer 50% of payment value to future booking (manager discretion)

✗ NO-SHOW

Result: Full payment forfeited, no refund

Future Bookings: Will be denied or require full pre-payment with strict terms

Why Different Policies?

Pre-payment shows commitment and guarantees your slot. In exchange, I invest time in custom design work and turn down other bookings. When you pre-pay:

  • Your appointment slot is 100% guaranteed (I won't double-book)
  • I prioritize your custom design work immediately
  • Materials and equipment are ordered specifically for your tattoo
  • I decline other clients for that time slot

For non-pre-paid bookings, I keep more flexibility but ask for respectful notice if you need to cancel.

What If I'm Sick or Have an Emergency?

Legitimate Circumstances

We understand that genuine emergencies happen. If you're unable to attend due to:

  • Serious illness or hospitalization
  • Medical emergency in your family
  • Unexpected work emergency
  • Other genuine hardship

What we'll do: Contact us as soon as possible with documentation (hospital letter, medical certificate, etc.). We'll waive cancellation fees and offer:

  • Free rescheduling without penalty
  • No cancellation fee applied
  • Priority rebooking when you're ready

Important: Communicate ASAP. Contact us as early as possible so we can potentially fill your appointment slot.

What About Refunds for Poor Quality?

Our Quality Guarantee

We're confident in our work. However, understand that:

  • Design Approval: You approve the final design before we start. No refunds for changing your mind about approved designs.
  • Free Touch-ups: If healing issues occur (within 6 months), minor touch-ups are free
  • Fading: All tattoos fade over years - this is normal, not a defect
  • Professional Negligence: If we make an error (wrong design, severe sterilization failure), we'll address it at no cost

Full Refund: Full refunds are not possible as the service is permanently applied to your body. We prefer to resolve issues through touch-ups or partial credits.

Cancellation Process

How to Cancel

  2. Provide Details: Your name, booking date, reason for cancellation
  3. Confirmation: We confirm cancellation and advise if any fees apply
  4. Invoice: If cancellation fee applies (less than 24 hours notice), invoice sent within 2 business days
  5. Payment: Cancellation fees payable within 7 days
  6. Rebooking: Outstanding fees must be paid before new appointments can be made

Payment for Completed Work

If work is partially completed before stopping (emergency, reaction, etc.), payment is only for work done:

Fair Pricing: We only charge for actual work completed, not the full quoted price

Group Bookings

If booking multiple people, each person's appointment is treated independently. Cancellation policies apply to each individual booking.
